Default Petition: Fix res shrines & rubberband!

Anyone who's been "rubberbanded" knows what a pain it is. You're trying to get somewhere, possibly running for your life, then BOOM! You're zapped back to your henchmen who are probably 5 feet away at least.

The annoyance of this is doubled when you are the only one alive, running to the closest res shrine, activate it, then you die or get rubberbanded, then die and it doesn't take. So you're zapped back to a different res shrine and have to go through mobs all over again.

This is annoying and unfair. From what I can understand, if the majority of your party isn't with you when you activate a res shrine, you won't res on that shrine but rather the last one. This is very irritating and I personally think it should be fixed. Same with rubberbanding.

How many times must I run passed that bloody shrine without springing back? I've learned to take a wide-berth but it's not always easy to remember. It seems to be worse since the last patch.

It's a bug that's existed since Factions was released and they still haven't fixed it.

Guild Wars uses streamline technology, not only for updating while you are playing but for alot of the actual gameplay itself. The game is built upon the idea of having lagg. There are a few ways to make us have less rubberband laggs, but it will always be there due to the design flaw. Hopefully in the future in GW2 they dont use streamline technology for thier servers.

Petitions are made to change the rules of the game.

Fixing rubberbanding isn't a petition - it is fixing a technical issue.
Unlike game bugs (such as skill X doesn't work), this is not one which can be fixed. Your game information has to travel hundreds to thousands of kilometers, and lag is bound to occur.

The only advice I could give you is wait around the res shrine a few seconds, perhaps even talk to the NPC there.

This can't be fixed as it is a apart of what interfaces with the dat.bak file with uploading and downloading informantion from your computer to the GW server.I don't want to lok for the post but someone said click on the map or ground to make contact with the server.I get this a lot when running.

You're all talking crap, rubberbanding was introduced when they fixed the stuck bug. The devs have mentioned it a number of times. It's a bug, it needs fixing.

Rubberbanding is especially bad in AB right now. Apparently Anet didn't forsee any increased traffic on double faction weekend, so we have uber lag. During my last game I was lagged out until the score was 120-70.

Well they could upgrade from the Commodore 64 they are running the server on. Yes, I am on a 3mb pipe and get a 200 ping on a GOOD day (typical is 500 to 2k) ... any other game it is 30-60. Throw some money at your network please.

Hundreds of thousands of kilometers at the speed of light to be more precise.

Rubberband Hit: Skill. Monster only.

It's their PvE skill.

Fix this please.

Wait, I've had rubberbanding problems in every ORPG I've every played, including: CoH/CoV, WoW, LotRO, and Anarchy Online (especially bad in AO). It may be the quality of the servers, their connection, your own connection, and anywhere in-between. It happens.

You cant fix it. It will *always* be there. You may as well ask them to fix your internet from crashing.

Meh, I rubberband daily, if you suspect you are ''Rubberband lagged'' then do /stuck promptly, it fixes it, generally why they made this emote. Just make it a habbit and its all good.

Now as for getting them to ''change or fix'' things other then /stuck, not gonna happen really.

The only possible way with current technology to remove rubberbanding is for ANet to run a dedicated fibre link to each and every computer used for GW, or give every one their own home based server which no one else plays on.
